Concerts & Events

Through our rental program, First Unitarian hosts concerts, theatre performances, orchestras and more in the Sanctuary, Chapel, Griffin Hall basement, and Parish Room.

Over the years, our renters included Bread & Puppet Theater, Opera Philadelphia, The A Cappella Project – Philadelphia, Anna Crusis Feminist Choir, Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, Kenyon College Chasers, Movemakers Philly, Musicopia, Vienna Light Orchestra, Coatesville Cultural Society, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Motivated by Music Association, Philadelphia Freedom Round Up, Fever Dream Repertory, The Graduates, Philadelphia Voices of Pride, Vilacello String and Piano Festival, Noteworthy Philadelphia, Starling Shakespeare Company, and Tempesta di Mare. 

The Church is most well-known for the punk, hardcore and indie shows hosted in our basement. Since the 90’s, production companies, like R5, Joe Hardcore, and Dave Kiss have hosted shows in our Griffin Hall basement. We don’t book shows, but we do rent the basement out to the production companies below. You can reach out them with more questions.
